SaaS development: multi-tenant products with billing, built and run

We design, build and run multi-tenant SaaS products: workspaces with roles, subscription billing with tax invoices, an operator console and the API behind them. Storafleet, our own multi-cloud storage SaaS, is live at storafleet.com and bills Indian customers in rupees and everyone else in dollars. AskForth, AlwaysLoud and LoudMouth are our own products too, built but not yet launched, and ConferBot and Copilotly are live products we built for their owners.

  • Founders turning a service or an internal tool into a subscription product
  • SaaS teams adding renewals, a second currency or GST invoices to their billing
  • Products whose customers connect their own cloud accounts, domains or AI keys

What makes SaaS products hard, and how we handled it

Renewals, two currencies and GST that add up

Storafleet first showed dollar prices and collected rupees at a daily rate. That broke when we built renewals, because a Razorpay plan's amount cannot be edited, so every plan now carries a rupee price and a dollar price set by a person, and each paid invoice takes the next number in a gapless GST series for its financial year. AskForth runs on the same billing engine.

Separation built in, not left to care

Storafleet workspaces have owner, admin, editor and viewer roles and an append-only activity log. LoudMouth encrypts every stored secret with the workspace id bound in, so a ciphertext copied into another workspace fails to decrypt. AskForth's industry packs once read one shared collection, and in our demo data a school's students appeared on a travel agency's page; 22 of its 24 packs now have their own.

Into customers' clouds without their long-lived keys

Storafleet connects to AWS through a CloudFormation stack in the customer's own account: an IAM role scoped to one bucket, which Storafleet assumes only with a per-connection ExternalId and refuses to save if it can be assumed without one. Credentials for every other provider are encrypted with AES-256-GCM under per-account keys derived with HKDF.

Launch readiness you can count

Before calling Storafleet launch-ready we ran ten passes that exercised 237 of its 253 API routes over HTTP, and audited our own payment path: 35 findings, 33 closed by 16 July 2026, each with its own acceptance test. AskForth's backend passed 479 of 479 tests at its September 2026 billing push, and AlwaysLoud's server passed 701 tests on 17 October 2026.

Storafleet — Multi-Cloud Storage Control Plane

Storafleet is CountryDevs' own SaaS control plane for object storage. Teams connect buckets they already own on 50+ providers, including AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi and MinIO, then browse, migrate, search, secure and cost-check them from one console.

AskForth — AI Form Builder SaaS

AskForth is CountryDevs' own form SaaS. People build a form by describing it to an AI, by drag-and-drop, by mixing both or from a template, and all four produce the same JSON. Forms run as hosted links or CSP-safe embeds, with 24 industry packs on top. Built, not yet launched.

SaaS Development: questions we get asked

How long does it take to build a SaaS product?

It depends on scope. AskForth, with a dashboard, API, form engine, embed widget, superadmin console and a 48-page marketing site, took about 11 weeks to build, from July to September 2026. Launch can wait on things outside the code: AskForth's is waiting on final legal and policy details and live payment keys.

What goes into a SaaS operator console?

What the team running the product needs every day. Storafleet's superadmin console manages plans and prices, the revenue ledger, every customer migration, Search Console data and a scheduled blog engine. Its screens build their field lists from the schema rather than a hand-kept deny-list, and a checker script looks for any model that could return a secret.

Who pays for the AI model calls inside a SaaS product?

The customer or you, and the product has to be built for one of them. LoudMouth holds no platform key: each workspace brings its own key for a supported AI provider or any compatible endpoint, kept in an encrypted vault, and generation stops with a clear message if none is set. Where the product pays, as LeafRanger does, every call is metered and capped per plan.

Do you build SaaS products of your own?

Yes. Storafleet is ours and live at storafleet.com. AskForth, AlwaysLoud and LoudMouth are ours too, built but not launched, so they have no customers to report. ConferBot and Copilotly are live SaaS products we built for their owners.
