Admin panel (back office)
The private web console your own team uses to run the product: approving people, fixing records, handling money and watching what happens.

What does admin panel mean in practice?
Customers see the app; operations live in the admin panel. It is where staff approve drivers or sellers, answer support tickets, issue invoices, release payouts and look into disputes. In a marketplace it is often as large as the customer app.
Founders often under-scope it. If the panel can't do something, a developer ends up doing it by hand in the database, which is slow, risky and leaves no record. Budget for it as a product with its own users.
Because it holds the most power, it needs the strongest controls: roles with explicit permissions, two-factor sign-in for staff, an audit log of privileged actions and, where users write private things, rules about what staff can see at all.

Where has admin panel come up in our builds?
The SuperAdmin console has 26 admin screens for bookings, trips, drivers, customers, companies, pricing, zones, payouts, invoices, disputes and settings, with an audit log of privileged actions and books that export to Tally.
The admin console runs on its own backend and shows staff metadata and counts, never what users wrote; anything that must touch content, such as hiding a reported post, goes through a signed internal API on the app's backend.
The firm's admin panel holds website enquiries on a five-stage kanban board, the company mailboxes, projects and photo albums, staff accounts, and the site's colours and fonts.
Common questions about admin panel
How big should the admin panel be compared with the app?
Big enough that nobody needs a developer to run the business day to day. List every task operations will do, such as approvals, corrections, refunds, payouts and disputes, and check each one has a screen.
Should support staff see everything users enter?
Not by default. Give staff the metadata they need to help and route anything that touches private content through a narrow, logged path. Temphera's console is built so staff work from metadata and counts only.
